We do not have cougars in the mountains of West Virginia, however dogs produced from our bloodlines are efficient with these types of big game.  Below are pictures and statements from Scott Buttars, who has used Pocahontas Plotts for many years.

I have hunted these dogs from California to Idaho on dry ground and 100 degrees to 3 feet of snow and -35 degrees and they will do it everywhere and every time.  They also have the speed and grit to put a mean bear in a tree and have the brains to out smart an old tom lion through the ledges of southeastern Idaho.  I have had every breed of hound and I have not found any other dogs that could out track, out run, or do anything else better than the Pocahontas Plotts.  I would like to thank Eugene Walker for his time, talent and years spent making this quality of hound.  Thanks.
